Ever since I was a small child, even before elementary school, I have always had a deep passion for the welfare of animals and the environment. I would try and save baby birds or examine bugs on nature walks and just being aware of the politics in wildlife and the environment. Because of my interest in the outdoors I have always loved photography as it brings me closer to the things I love most and lets me really see in detail all the beautiful things around me.
The satisfaction of taking a great picture and knowing I have accomplished my goal is what I strive for. That goal is to be able to interpret my feelings and opinions into my work and have other people see it or feel it too. I somehow hope to make a difference on people’s views or thoughts through my photo’s. I believe each photo carries something from the photographer with it; more then just skill and creativity, but a mood and an opinion depending on the subject matter.
I begin a piece of work when I see, think or feel something I just can't get away from. I know that it could in someway hold potential. I look for detail and hidden aspects of life and try to understand them. It is then that I get a mood for the shot and think of how I could make it look profound and be more then what it really is. Each time I go out to take pictures I strive to get better at understanding my photos and my subjects so I can get my ideas across better. I never give up because I know that at it will come to me, I just have to believe in what I do and keep trying. I know when a piece is done because I see and feel that I was able to accomplished what I was trying to capture.
